[The Unreasonable Institute徵求] 世界上最具顛覆思想及創新的年輕創業家(2009.12.09)
創新協會是一個國際性的培育機構，針對20-30歲熱衷於改善世界顯著問題(如貧窮、饑荒、社會不平等)的年輕創業家而設。
此協會從2009年11月15日開始全球性的徵求25名最具有顛覆思想及高度影響力的企業家
創辦人Daniel Epstein如此說，我們正在尋找25位社會創業家，透過他們高度顛覆的思想及創新的視野來規模性地改善幾百萬人民的生活。
這些入選的創新創業家將會在2010年5月28日至8月7日於Boulder,Colorado聚集參與創新協會舉辦為期十週的夏季培育計畫。
創辦人Epstein說，我們的職責就是給我們的會員一切所需要的資源。我們希望投注的資金能夠培育出不同凡響的影響力來衝擊這個世界。會員們可以經濟上自給自足、有規模地擴充並且至少滿足一百萬人基本的需要。

The
Unreasonable
Institute,
an
international
incubator
for
early‐stage
social
ventures,
is
scouring
the
globe
for
20‐30
year
olds
hungry
to
use
entrepreneurship
to
address
the
world’s
most
significant
problems
like
poverty,
hunger,
and
social
injustice.
The
search
for
twenty‐five
of
the
most
unreasonable,
high‐impact
entrepreneurs
begins
on
November
15,
2009
when
The
Institute
opens
its
applications
to
the
world.
“We’re
looking
for
twenty‐five
social
entrepreneurs
who
hold
the
highly
‘unreasonable’
view
that
they
can
measurably
improve
the
lives
of
millions
of
people,”
explains
Founding
President
Daniel
Epstein.
These
entrepreneurs
will
gather
in
Boulder,
Colorado
between
May
28,
2010
and
August
7,
2010
to
attend
the
Unreasonable
Institute’s
ten‐week
summer
incubation
program.
Selected
entrepreneurs,
dubbed
“Unreasonable
Fellows,”
will
learn
practical,
entrepreneurial
skills
including
how
to
pitch
to
investors
and
how
to
put
together
an
exceptional
business
plan.
They’ll
benefit
from
free
legal
consultation
and
website
development.
They’ll
receive
involved
guidance
from
fifty
expert
mentors,
like
the
former
head
of
Global
Brand
Marketing
for
Coca
Cola
and
the
Founder
of
a
$400
million
venture
fund.
Finally,
they’ll
have
access
to
seed
capital
to
build
working
prototypes
and
the
opportunity
to
pitch
their
ideas
to
over
200
investors
and
enlightened
philanthropists
at
the
culmination
of
the
Institute.
“Our
job,”
explains
Epstein,
“is
to
give
our
Fellows
everything
they
need.
We
want
the
ventures
we
incubate
to
have
an
unreasonable
impact
on
the
world.
They’ve
got
to
be
able
to
sustain
themselves
financially,
scale
to
multiple
countries,
and
meet
the
needs
of
at
least
one
million
people.”
“There
is
a
tremendous
hunger
for
a
place
that
provides
young
entrepreneurs
the
practical
skills
and
support
to
solve
the
world’s
biggest
problems,”
explains
Tyler
Hartung,
one
of
the
Unreasonable
Institute’s
four
Co‐Founders.
“Our
applications
won’t
open
for
three
days,
and
we
already
have
over
180
entrepreneurs
signed
up
to
apply.”
The
Institute’s
twenty
“pipeline
partners”,
hubs
for
young
social
entrepreneurs
from
around
the
world,
including
Teach
for
America,
Ashoka,
and
ChangeFusion
Nepal,
are
helping
the
Institute
attract
brilliant
entrepreneurs
from
around
the
world.
Applicants
will
have
until
December
15
to
submit
their
initial
applications
and
the
finalist
marketplace
will
launch
in
late
December.
Reasonable
entrepreneurs
need
not
apply.
